Summer History Camp: African Americans in the Civil War History Camp

June 24 - 28, 2013

 

From Slave to Soldier:

African Americans in the Civil War History Camp

Students will learn about the contributions made by African Americans during the Civil War (1861-1865). Activities will include directed reading and writing activities, hands-on experiences with museum artifacts, interaction with museum exhibits, tasting period foods, listening to period music, special guests and more. The Soldiers & Sailors 6th Regiment USCT Drum Corps will be present throughout the week.

Bill Engvall Comedy Show - Cancellation

 As a popular venue location for concerts and shows, Soldiers & Sailors strives to maintain that popularity and regrets any inconvenience this cancellation may have caused.  The cancellation was not related to or caused by the venue, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum.  We received notification on Friday, April 5, 2013 that the event was cancelled and attempted to alert the public as soon as possible.  We also received conflicting responses from the promoter and Management Company regarding the reasons for the cancellation. 

 We have been advised by CEE Presents that ticketholders should contact their ticket provider for more information.  Unfortunately, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum was not a party to the relationship between the promoter, the ticket provider, and the talent management company.  Please know that Soldiers & Sailors does not receive any proceeds from ticket sales.
