Honor Veteran’s Day with Soldiers & Sailors

 PITTSBURGH — Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. announced today it will honor Veterans by offering free admission on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.

“Soldiers & Sailors honors and remembers Veterans every day,” said President & CEO John F. McCabe. “We offer free admission and invite the public to visit Soldiers & Sailors in recognition of Veteran’s Day”.  “We want to provide the opportunity for visitors to turn their attention towards learning more about our country’s military experiences and sacrifices through our exhibits.”

Soldiers & Sailors will be free and open to public from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Guests can visit the museum and tour exhibits to learn about and honor Veterans who fought during the Civil War through our current conflict.

The United States Colored Troops (USCT) Youth Re-enactment Drum Corps will participate in Pittsburgh’s Annual Veteran’s Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014. In 2009, Soldiers & Sailors established the Civil War drum and fife re-enactment corps for the 6th Regiment United States Colored Troops. The USCT perform military drum beats and marches used during war and played by boys too young to fight.

In addition, Soldiers & Sailors will partner with the Steel City Salutes the Troops event on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Point State Park.  Visit our table and Honor Them With Your Presence.
