Soldiers & Sailors “Comes to Life” for the 2014 Cannonball Gala

PITTSBURGH — Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. announced today it will host its premier annual Cannon Ball Gala on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

“Each year, Soldiers & Sailors host its annual fundraiser which helps raise money to provide valuable educational and veteran programs and preserve and maintain our historic memorial and museum,” said President & CEO John F. McCabe. “This is a time when we ask businesses, community leaders and new supporters to enjoy an evening at the museum, show their support for the Memorial, and learn about our organization and our mission.”  The paid event is open to the public and Soldiers & Sailors hopes to attract both new friends and old friends to this special evening of celebration and fun.

Our Cannon Ball Gala will include special performances throughout the evening by Soldiers & Sailors ensemble in residence, The Brass Roots, on the stage of Soldiers & Sailors auditorium in the shadow of President Lincoln’s historical Gettysburg Address. Guests will enjoy cocktails in the Museum while interacting with mentalist Collin Stover and his unique encounters.  Guests will also experience the Museum in a unique way as it Comes Alive with actors depicting notable exhibit such as Abraham Lincoln, Civil War veterans, USO performers, WWI pilots, and heroes from today’s conflicts.  An added element of the evening will be the premier opening of a temporary art exhibition by the National Veteran’s Art Museum, Chicago, Ill., featuring mixed media pieces inspired and created by veterans.

Mike Frazer, Afternoon Personality – 94.5 – 3WS Radio returns and will emcee the evening’s festivities. And the 2014 Friend and Patriot of the Year will be awarded to Mike Cherock and A/E Works. Guests will enjoy dinner, dessert and dancing to the sounds of DJ Crush.
