Soldiers & Sailors Family Evening at the Museum

PITTSBURGH — Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust, Inc. today announced that it will host a FREE family evening on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 6-8 p.m.
“Through the generous donation from the Jack Buncher Foundation, Soldiers & Sailors is happy to offer an exciting and educational evening for families to explore the museum and learn about history in a fun way,” said President & CEO John F. McCabe. “We’re hoping this opportunity to experience our grand memorial and historic museum in a new way will attract lots of new visitors, and well as guests from the past. Soldiers & Sailors is an extraordinary school house showcasing our most treasured artifacts and provides an environment for students and adults to enjoy and learn about our services members through our collection.”
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a variety of hands-on stations for the whole family in which to interact and engage. Some of the activities include participating in scavenger hunt, taking selfie photos with authentic military artifacts and props, learning about Dog Jack, the story of a local Civil War unit mascot and his capture and making cards for our Veterans. Everyone completing all activities will receive a souvenir dog tag.
