History of Joseph A. Dugan, Jr. Hall of ValorIn 1963, Soldiers & Sailors Hall of Valor was dedicated as part of the military history museum to honor veterans, living and deceased, for valor "above and beyond the call of duty" while in action against the enemy. The Hall of Valor is opened to veterans who were born, enlisted, or lived most of their lives after service in Pennsylvania. Currently there are over 600 veterans that have been inducted into this prestigious Hall. On November 12, 2006, the Hall was renamed to the Joseph A. Dugan Jr. Hall of Valor in memory of Soldiers & Sailors' first President & CEO. His dedication to our mission to honor and remember those who serve helped to make the museum and the Hall of Valor what it is today. Honored in the Hall of Valor are recipients of: The Congressional Medal of Honor, The Kearny Cross, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Soldier's Medal.
